In this world, I placed each block one by one(Except for the trees, which were placed down in certain spots and then grown). The goal of this piece is to tell a story through a Minecraft world using only the blocks and in-game sounds, as well as the 'Walking Simulator'-esque video. Placing the blocks one by one allowed for a more intimate creation process rather than using tools such as World Edit which can easily form the whole environment. Due to this being a long and exhausting task, I took advantage of Minecraft's camera limitations/player point of view to only create what would be in sight of the player. This is seen in the aerial images as only the top half of the mountains are made and the forest only goes deep enough until the player can not see through.
